How to use the insurance?
Buy a new Ecobike bicycle
Purchase on ecobike.pl or from any distributor. Make sure the bike is marked as insured. On the ecobike.pl website, these are models marked with a special badge. When buying from a dealer, ask for confirmation that the particular unit is insured.
Insurance is included in the bike price
The protection is free and requires no action on your part. With the purchase, you will receive an Insurance Certificate and General Insurance Terms, which you should read. The certificate will be issued by the store where you made the purchase.
Protection lasts for 12 months
The insurance is automatic and valid for one year from the day following the bike purchase. Protection applies within Poland and covers private use. Refer to the information available on this page.

How does it work and how much does it cost?
Ecobike electric bike insurance is free for you. The insurance covers:
- every new Ecobike purchased through our online store ecobike.pl and at the Ecobike showroom in Źródła
- every Ecobike at Ecobike distributor showrooms that is marked as insured. Before purchasing from a dealer, ensure that the specific unit is insured.
I bought an Ecobike with insurance. Do I need to do anything?
No. The protection is automatic and valid for one year from the day after the purchase of the Ecobike on the terms specified in the General Insurance Terms available for download on this page. The insurance coverage applies within Poland.
When does the insurance take effect?
Ecobike insurance covers damage, loss, or destruction of the bike due to:
- random events, rescue operations related to random events
- acts of vandalism
- theft with burglary
- robbery
- theft with overcoming security measures
- casco - protection for the bike that takes effect in the event of damage or destruction of the bike after a collision with another vehicle, person, object, or animal
When does the insurance not take effect?
There are situations for which the insurer cannot be held liable, such as: when the incident occurred outside Poland, if your bike was not properly secured against theft, when you do not have a readable proof of purchase, or if you cannot provide a complete set of keys with which the bike was secured. Similarly, if the bike was used for business purposes or professional sports. The insurance does not cover the consequences of accidents and civil liability or assistance services. The insurance also excludes: theft of equipment or luggage, damage or loss of the electric battery. The detailed scope of insurance coverage can be found in the General Insurance Terms.
How to properly secure an electric bike?
Secure the bike using the locks listed below to a bike rack or other fixed element such as a balcony railing, pole, or tree. The insurer requires the following types of locks:
- hardened steel chain with a minimum thickness of 8 mm with a lock
- U-lock made of steel with a double-locking lock made of specially hardened steel
- folding lock with a minimum thickness of 5 mm
My bike was stolen. What should I do?
In the event of a covered theft (i.e., theft with burglary/overcoming security measures, or robbery) - report the incident to the police immediately (you have a maximum of 48 hours from the event) and obtain written confirmation of the report (police report).
Also, prepare the necessary documents (proof of purchase, in case of theft, the complete set of keys with which the bike was secured, photos of any damages, a document with the serial number of your bike, e.g., warranty book). Then contact the insurer according to the instructions in the section: How to report a claim?

- sending the completed and signed claim form available at: colonnade.pl/zglos-szkode
- sending a copy of the completed and signed form along with the required documents to the email address: szkody@colonnade.pl

What if I have multiple claims in succession?
In such a situation, the sum insured is consumed. This means that a specified amount (e.g., the value of the bike) will decrease each time the insurer makes a payout (e.g., for bike repair).
Example: You buy a bike for 10,000 PLN. You have an accident, and the repair costs 2,000 PLN. Then, in case of bike theft or total loss, the insurer will provide you with a new bike worth no more than 8,000 PLN.
What documents are needed to report a claim?
The insurer requires the following documents to be attached to the claim form:
- photos of the damage
- police report (in case of theft or robbery)
- copy of the warranty card with the serial number of the insured device
- copy of the receipt or invoice for the purchase of the device
