New! When you buy an Ecobike electric bike, you get a one-year theft and damage insurance included in the price, up to the amount you paid, even up to 15,000 PLN. If your bike is damaged, we will repair it, and if you lose it, you will receive a new one. All without additional costs and unnecessary formalities
Notice: Not all bikes found in the network are insured! Before buying outside of our ecobike.com website, always ask the seller to confirm that the particular bike unit is insured.

How to use the insurance?
Buy a new Ecobike bicycle
Purchase a bike on ecobike.com or from any distributor. Make sure the bike is marked as insured. On the ecobike.com website, look form models marked with a special badge. When buying from a dealer (outside of our Ecobike e-store), confirm if that the particular e-bike is insured.
Insurance is included in the bike price
The protection is free and requires no action on your part. With the purchase, you will receive an Insurance Certificate and General Insurance Terms, which you should read. The certificate will be issued by the store where you made the purchase.
Protection lasts for 12 months
The insurance is automatic and valid for one year from the day following the bike purchase. Protection applies within Poland and covers private use. Refer to the information available on this page.

How does it work and how much does it cost?
Electric bike insurance from Ecobike is free for you. The insurance coverage applies to:
- every new Ecobike purchased via our online store at ecobike.pl or at the Ecobike showroom in Źródła
- a new Ecobike purchased from Ecobike authorized dealers that is marked as insured at the dealership. Before purchasing from a dealer, make sure the bike is eligible for insurance
I bought an Ecobike with insurance. Do I need to do anything?
No. The coverage is automatic and valid for one year starting the day after the purchase date of your Ecobike, under the terms specified in the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance available on this page. Insurance is valid within the territory of Poland.
How long does the insurance coverage last and how can I extend it?
Automatic coverage for Ecobikes marked as insured lasts for one year from the day after the purchase date. After that period, you can extend the coverage at Velofy.pl
When does the insurance apply?
Ecobike insurance covers damage, loss, or destruction of the bike due to:
- accidental events or rescue actions related to such events
- vandalism
- burglary
- robbery
- theft involving overcoming security
- casco – this protects your bike in case of damage or destruction after a collision with another vehicle, person, object, or animal
When does the insurance not apply?
There are situations where the insurer is not liable, such as: when the incident occurred outside of Poland, your bike wasn’t properly secured, you lack a valid proof of purchase, or cannot provide all the keys that were used to secure the bike. Insurance also doesn’t apply if the bike was used for business or competitive sport. It excludes personal accident, liability coverage, and assistance services. Also not covered: theft of accessories or luggage, and damage or loss of the electric battery. Full terms can be found in the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance.
How to properly secure an electric bike?
Secure the bike using the types of locks listed below, attaching it to a bike stand or other fixed element such as a balcony railing, pole, or tree. The insurer requires one of the following:
- hardened steel chain lock with a minimum thickness of 8 mm and a padlock
- U-lock with a double locking mechanism made of specially hardened steel
- folding lock with a minimum thickness of 5 mm
My bike was stolen. What should I do?
If the theft is covered by insurance (i.e. burglary, theft with forced entry, or robbery), immediately report it to the police (within 48 hours) and obtain a written report.
Prepare the required documents (proof of purchase, in case of theft the full set of keys used to secure the bike, photos of any damage, and a document with the bike's serial number such as the warranty card). Then contact the insurer as instructed in: How to report a claim?

What if I have multiple claims one after another?
This leads to the consumption of the insurance sum, meaning the total insured amount (e.g., the bike’s value) decreases with each payout.
Example: You buy a bike for 10,000 PLN. After an accident, the repair costs 2,000 PLN. If the bike is later stolen or totaled, the insurer will pay up to 8,000 PLN.
What documents are required to report a claim?
The insurer requires the following to be attached to the claim form:
- photos of the damage
- police report (in case of theft or robbery)
- copy of the warranty card with the serial number
- copy of the receipt or invoice for the purchase
